  • Kettil Bruun Society Thematic Meeting on Campus-based Interventions

    PEP-AH and CCSA are sponsoring a thematic meeting of the Kettil Bruun Society to explore the topic of excessive drinking on campuses. The meeting will bring together researchers from around the world to discuss evidence around campus-based interventions that reduce alcohol-related harms among college and university students.

  • Iss​ues of Substance Conference 2019

    CCSA's 2019 Issues of Substance conference is heading to Ottawa, Ontario! The Issues of Substance conference will take place at the Westin Ottawa from November 25-27, 2019, as part of National Addictions Awareness Week.

    The theme for CCSA's IOS 2019 conference is Evidence and Perspectives​, Compassion and Action. Substance use and addiction are serious concerns in Canada. They have a negative impact on individuals' relationships and responsibilities wit​hin communities, workplaces, volunteer organizations and educational institutions. In addition, substance use costs our society an estimated $38 billion per year.​

  • 18th AGRI Gambling Studies Conference: Blurred Lines in Gambling Research

    March 28-30, 2019

    The theme of the 2019 conference is Blurred Lines. Presentations will explore the blurring of gaming and gambling; the blurring of the focus on harms versus addiction; the blurring of treatment, harm reduction, and prevention; and the blurring of traditional face-to-face treatment and self-directed online interventions. Sessions will be relevant to researchers, treatment providers, policy makers, and industry staff.
